Ester Bellon

Ester, an architect with a deep love for beauty, not the superficial kind, but beauty as truth and authenticity. Her days are filled with slow rituals: reading, sketching, writing. Photography and storytelling are central to how she expresses herself, and fashion, to her, is the quietest way to say everything about who you are. When she discovered Sowll’s commitment to sustainability and conscious creation, it instantly felt aligned with her own values.

HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR STYLE?
I love Parisian style, that almost innate ability to make elegance look accidental. I'm deeply drawn to aesthetics that blend sophistication and effortlessness, where nothing feels forced, even if there's a sharp eye behind it. For me, fashion should flow naturally: what you wear has to feel organic. True elegance never needs an explanation.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CITY FOR FASHION, FOOD AND CULTURE?
London is where tradition and irreverence coexist naturally, without anyone questioning it. I find it inspiring how fashion there is understood as a form of freedom, anything goes, anything can be mixed, anything can work if there’s intention behind it. It’s a city that sharpens your eye, keeps your curiosity alive, and pushes you not to settle.
I adore the effortless elegance of Parisian women, that way of making the simple feel sublime. But Paris, to me, is an aesthetic ideal. London, on the other hand, is where I find real energy - the kind that moves and challenges me.

CAN YOU PIN POINT THE TIME IN YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU DECIDED TO LIVE IN A MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY-CONSCIOUS WAY?
I don’t think it was a single moment, more like an accumulation of small choices. I believe awareness is born from contradiction: loving fashion while rejecting the shallow side of what’s fleeting. I became more conscious when I understood that true luxury lies in what lasts, a well-made garment, an object that gets passed down, something you don’t throw away after one season. My way of consuming and living is now slower, more deliberate, more thoughtful.

WHAT DOES FASHION MEAN TO YOU, AND WHAT'S YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH IT?
To me, fashion is a language, both intimate and protective. My relationship with it is deeply emotional: sometimes it’s pure love, other times it’s a more critical distance. I admire fashion that doesn’t shout or try to impress, but instead quietly reflects who you are and where you are in life.

WHAT GARMENT IS EVER-PRESENT IN YOUR CLOSET, NO MATTER HOW MANY SEASONS PASS BY?
A black dress. It’s the piece you go for when you don’t want to be overdressed, but still want to get it right, it always works. It’s the colour that best defines the silhouette. I love it because it lets the accessories shine, and every time you change them, the dress becomes something entirely different.

WHAT ARE THE THREE MUST-HAVES ELEMENTS IN YOUR OFFICE?
A notebook, a candle, and a coffee.

DO YOU HAVE ANY DAILY RITUALS OR HABITS THAT HELP YOU STAY INSPIRED AND CREATIVE?
I draw while listening to music, it’s something I truly enjoy. I sketch a lot, and slowly bring those drawings to life, creating compositions... That process helps me organise my thoughts. I also make space to get a little bored, because that’s usually when the best ideas show up in that quiet space where nothing’s happening.

PLAY TREND-HUNTER FOR US: GIVE US YOUR LATEST RECOMMENDATION.
Lately I’ve been loving Spanish brands that do things with intention, like Paloma Wool, it has that artistic, different edge that always adds something.
As for books, my all-time favourite is My Year of Rest and Relaxation. It has a wonderfully dark sense of humour, and it’s changed how I see life. I keep going back to it because it has so many layers, and I find something new every time.
And food-wise… I’m really into simple, natural dishes, they’re what I enjoy most. I love making roasted veggie bowls with good olive oil and lemon, or sourdough toast with avocado and poached egg. Nothing tastes better than that.

WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST ABOUT YOUR LEISURE TIME?
That it allows me to slow down. Doing things without checking the clock, drawing, reading, walking, wasting time without guilt. In the end, those are the moments when things fall into place and everything starts to make sense.

EACH ONE OF US IS CONSTANTLY LIVING OUR OWN GENTLE REVOLUTION. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURS?
Mine has been about learning to peel back layers. I’ve let go of noise, outside opinions, and the need for validation, keeping only what truly matters. My revolution is quiet but steady: being at peace with myself and with the choices I make in life and in my wardrobe. In the end, I believe real sophistication lies in well-understood simplicity.
